Chacchoben Ruins and Beach Club
Discover the ancient Mayan ruins of Chacchoben (“Place of Red Corn”) on this relaxing half-day adventure from Costa Maya. Enjoy a comfortable, air-conditioned 45-minute drive through rural Mexico to the site, where you’ll explore impressive pyramids, temples, and plazas at your own pace.
Wander shaded jungle paths past key structures like Temple 24, the Gran Basamento, and the towering Temple One. Spot spider monkeys, colorful birds, and lush tropical flora in this peaceful, jungle setting. Your driver waits in the parking lot, giving you full flexibility.
On the way back, stop at Pedro Santos to buy fresh fruit (we include a delicious pineapple for every reservation!). Afterward, choose to return to port or relax at one of two beach clubs: Oxtankah or Krazy Lobster. Your waiter will help arrange your return taxi, or your driver will pick you up at the agreed time.
Optional: Hire a local guide at the ruins entrance for an extra fee. The guide will teach you about the plants, animals, culture and information about the ruins. Guides are completely optional
